A good work coverall should combine comfort, durability, and protection. It must be made of fabrics suitable for the work environment, such as cotton, polyester, polypropylene, or laminated materials, provide freedom of movement, and comply with the European standard EN ISO 13688. In addition, it should feature secure closures, reinforced seams, elastic cuffs and ankles, and, in hazardous environments, additional certifications against chemical or biological agents.

In industrial settings, coveralls with high mechanical resistance and durability are recommended. Models made of cotton or polyester–cotton blends, such as the Cotton Coverall or the Food Industry Coverall, provide breathability and comfort during long shifts. For more demanding tasks or exposure to chemicals or oils, coated or laminated coveralls are preferable, such as the Green Chemtex Coverall, certified under EN 14605:2005+A1:2009 Type 4 and EN 343:2003+A1:2007, ensuring protection against liquids, wind, and water.

The Food Industry Coverall is the best choice for the food sector. It is made of a 65% polyester and 35% cotton blend, which prevents lint buildup and makes cleaning easier. It also meets food hygiene and safety requirements and features a Velcro closure, elastic waistband, and fitted cuffs to prevent cross-contamination. Its design ensures comfort and cleanliness in environments with high sanitary standards.

Disposable or laminated chemical protection coveralls are the most effective against liquid agents, oils, or particles. Some of the most notable are:

• Dräger SPC 4400: protects against dust, acids, and liquids. Certified Type 3, 4, 5, and 6.
• Lakeland Micromax N or TS: provide full chemical and biological protection under EN 14126, EN 1073-2, and EN 1149-5 standards.
• Green Chemtex Coverall: resistant to oils, greases, and chemical agents, with PVC-coated polyester fabric certified EN 14605 Type 4.

There are different types of protective coveralls depending on their use:

• Reusable: made of cotton or polyester–cotton, durable and washable.
• Disposable: made of polypropylene or laminated material, ideal for painting, dust, or cleaning tasks.
• Chemical protection: certified under EN 14605 or EN 13982, resistant to hazardous liquids.
• Food industry: hygienic, metal-free, and easy to wash.
• Special: such as the Asian Hornet Beekeeper Suit, with reinforcements, visor, and certification for insect control.

• Wash the coverall inside out in cold or warm water.
• Use a neutral detergent and avoid bleach.
• Do not overload the washing machine to prevent wear.
• Air dry or tumble dry at a low temperature.
• Iron on low heat if necessary, avoiding prints or reflective bands.
